About this course
Immediate Life Support is taught to thousands of healthcare professionals across the UK every year, and every course needs skilled instructors to run it well. Teaching resuscitation takes more than clinical knowledge. It takes the ability to explain clearly, run realistic scenarios, give useful feedback and assess fairly.
Pacemaker Academy’s ILS Instructor (ILSI) course is an RCUK accredited course dedicated to successful ILS course candidates who have been nominated as Instructor Potential. Candidates must complete the ILSI course to become eligible ILS instructors. It builds the teaching skills an ILS instructor uses on every course day: delivering short teaching sessions, running and debriefing simulation scenarios, giving structured feedback and assessing candidates against the course standards.
The day is practical and hands-on. You will teach, run scenarios and receive feedback from experienced instructors throughout, in small groups.

The first Friday of the month, 10:00 to 15:00. £180, lunch included. ILSI runs at two training centres, so please check the location for your date.
Eligibility Requirements
The ILSI course is for successful ILS course candidates who have been nominated as Instructor Potential.
Who is this course designed for?
The ILSI course is designed for healthcare professionals who passed their ILS course, were nominated as Instructor Potential and want to go on to teach Immediate Life Support, such as doctors, nurses, paramedics, resuscitation officers and clinical educators.
Cancellation Policy
- 8 weeks or more before the course date – £20.00 Admin Fee.
- 6-8 weeks before -£20.00 Admin fee + £35.00 cost of manual (total £55.00)
- 4-6 weeks- 50% of the course Fee + £35.00 cost of manual.
- Less than 4 weeks 100% cost of the course.
It is at the discretion of Pacemaker Academy Ltd as to whether a candidate can be transferred on to a later, available course.
